CSP
A Cloud Service Provider (CSP) is a company that offers cloud computing services to other businesses or individuals. Here at Giacom, we specialise in a reseller-only offering, providing cloud services to IT resellers for them to provision to their end users.
IaaS
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) is an industry term used to define any infrastructure that is bought or rented, then sold onto a paying customer via an online subscription. It's most commonly used to provide servers in the cloud (Azure). It forms part of the Software as a Service model.
Licence
A licence is a way to access something online. It's commonly known as a 'product key'. Once you activate the licence or product key, you can then access that specific software it relates to. Consumers use these every day when they 'download a code' to access a game, anti-virus subscription or a Microsoft 365 subscription. For Giacom, one licence equates to one individual software subscription that a customer has bought for their own customer in cloud.market.
MPN
A Microsoft Partner Network (MPN) ID is a way to identify an organisation as part of the Microsoft Partner community. It's assigned to one organisation only and is used throughout the Microsoft network to verify that they can sell, distribute and administrate Microsoft licenses to their customers.
NFR
A Not For Resale (NFR) licence is a free test account for Giacom customers only. It's mainly used as a way to test or demonstrate the product to potential customers. Not all products have NFR licences.
Provision
When we talk about provisioning, we are referring to a company providing or supplying cloud services. Giacom provision cloud services to our IT resellers, so that they can they sell these to their customers.
Reseller
A reseller is a person or company that sells something on that they have bought to a third party. We work directly with IT resellers, provisioning cloud services that they can sell to their customers.
SaaS
Software as a Service (SaaS) is an industry term used to define any software that can be easily distributed and sold to a paying customer via an online subscription. Consumers use SaaS every day either through an online subscription to Office 365, Netflix or Amazon Prime.
SMB
Small to Medium Business (SMB) is a term used to described the size of a business. We use this term to identify our customer base as, due to the size difference, small to medium businesses have different IT requirements and challenges to large enterprises.
Vendor
Vendors are companies offering products or solutions. We work with a range of vendors to provide a variety of products to our customers and are constantly looking to expand our portfolio.
